In the Golden Triangle sightseeing part of the tour, you will visit the majestic forts, palaces and other magnificent structures in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Experience the different flavours of Delhi, Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort & other historical sights in Jaipur and Taj Mahal, one of the wonders of the world, and the magnificent Agra Fort, in Agra. The tour is a wonderful combination of sightseeing, exploration and getting plenty of opportunities for photography.

Itinerary

Arrive Delhi, meet and greet at the airport by tour manager and transfer to Hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

After breakfast, drive to the historic riverside city of Agra, former capital of the Mughal Empire. This afternoon, explore the imposing Agra Fort, the Mughal ruler Akbar commissioned the red sandstone Agra Fort, christening it the capital of his empire. Grandson Shah Jahan transformed the fort's militaristic style into a handsome palace with ornate gardens and white marble buildings. Stroll through the great halls, towers, ornate alcoves, and terraced pavilions. Also visit the Pearl Mosque—Jahan's personal place of worship—the spectacular mirrored palace of Sheesh Mahal, and the Khas Mahal, which displays one of the best examples of painting on marble in the world. Later we visit India's stunning iconic landmark, the Taj Mahal, (closed to visitor’s on Friday) built in 1632 to remember Shah Jahan's favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. This exquisite white marble mausoleum is the world's finest representation of Mughal architecture, combining Persian, Turkish, Indian, and Islamic influences. We will have plenty of time to delve into the Taj’s offerings, including its outlying buildings, the tomb itself, and the charbagh, a spectacular formal garden complex with sunken flowerbeds. Amble along the path by the reflecting pool and admire the finer details, such as the hand painted calligraphies, precious stone inlays, and superb carvings.

After breakfast, drive to the captivating "Pink City" of Jaipur, so called for its pink stucco buildings that mimic sandstone. The Mughal buildings were painted pink in the late nineteenth century for the visit of Prince Albert.

With the aid of a Hindu priest-turned-architect, Jaipur's founder, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, created the current city in 1727, who was a great astronomer.

En-route visit Fateh Pur Sikri, an epic poem in red sandstone, it was built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 and deserted 14 years later due to lack of water. Legend has it that Akbar who was without a male heir, made a pilgrimage to this spot to visit the saint Sheikh Salim Chisti, The saint predicted the birth of a male heir and in gratitude, after his son Jehangir was born, he built Fatehpur Sikri to commemorate the birth. The Diwan-e- Khas, Hall of Private Audiences has a unique interior design. The Diwan-e-Am or Hall of Public Audience is an open courtyard surrounded by cloisters and adjoining it is the Pachisi courtyard arranged like a gigantic game board, where the Emperor played chess using slave girls as pawns. Day 4 :
In Jaipur

After breakfast explore the sites of Jaipur. Drive pass by Hawa Mahal Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) adjoins the City Palace and is a truly remarkable complex built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. The building’s unusual five-story, pyramidal design offers panoramic views of the main streets of Jaipur, where ladies of the court could peer through windows at the bustling life below without being observed themselves. After breakfast visit Amber Fort, Just 7 miles north of Jaipur is Amber with its a honey-colored fortress-palace in the Aravalli Hills. Enjoy an elephant ride (subject to operations) along the fortress ramparts. The sombre exterior belies the richness of the royal apartments which open on to striking views of the gorge. Walk into the Sheesh Mahal and admire the amazing interior décor thought of over 200 years ago. The Hall of Victory presents a galaxy of decorative art panels of alabaster with fine inlay work

After Lunch Visit Jai Singh’s Observatory (Jantar Mantar) built in the 17th century by the founder of Jaipur who, besides being a prince was also soldier, astronomer and builder. This is an architectural feat. The City Palace now a museum exhibiting fine Rajput and Moghul paintings, rare manuscripts and an armory. Experience its impressive array of courtyards, gardens, gateways, and temples in which you’ll find collections of textiles, artwork, enamelware, manuscripts, and breathtaking wall and ceiling designs.

After breakfast drive to Delhi. Late afternoon orientation tour of old Delhi include drive pass Red Fort (closed on Mondays) built of red sandstone dating from the very peak of the Mughal power. Cycle rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk market, Jama Masjid, the most elegant mosque in India and Raj Ghat, where Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the nation was cremated in 1948.

After early breakfast transfer to domestic airport and fly to Srinagar. Arrive and check in at Houseboat. After wash and change Visit ShankaraChariya temple, CheshmaShahi (it is another Mughal garden) and Pari Mahal again a Mughal monument / garden.

After leisurely breakfast leave for City and Mughal Garden sightseeing that includes, Nishat and Shalimar Gardens, drive through city, by Hari Parbat fort, Jamia masjid and various shrines. Afternoon shikara ride over dal lake

After breakfast drive through paddy field and popular tree avenues till Tangmarg at an altitude of (2255 Mt.). From here steep, narrow foot path as well as a blacktop road (11 Km.) wind through blue pines to Gulmarg (Meadow of flowers) situated at an altitude of 2653Mt. it is on full bloom during the summer with flowers like bluebells and daisies. Gulmarg has highest 18 hole golf course established in 1902. It also has highest Gandola cable car which goes to two Kongdoro (3040 Mt.) and further to Apharwat (4060 Mt.) a ridge that offers breathtaking view in all season. During winter, Gulmarg turns into a best ski resort with world class facilities. In the evening return to houseboat.

After breakfast drive to Pahalgam (Valley shepherds), en-route, a photo stop at Pampore Safron fields, visit Avantipur ruins and halt at cricket bat manufacturer’s village. Arrive Pahalgam and enjoy the beauty of this popular hill stations, it is base for various treks including pilgrimage trail to Amarnath cave. Activity options are nature walks and pony rides. In the evening return to Srinagar.

Overnight: Houseboat

Today take Srinagar – Leh highway and drive to Sonamarg (Golden meadow), it is base for various important treks including pilgrimage trail to Amarnath cave via Baltal and a tea stop before climbing the Zojila pass for travel in to Ladakh. The popular activity for tourist is pony trek up to Thajiwas Glacier to enjoy the snow and sledging. Evening return to Srinagar

Overnight: Houseboat

After leisurely breakfast, transfer to airport and fly to Delhi. Visit the sites of New Delhi. Drive pass by Rashtrapati Bhavan (the Presidential Palace) and the Secretariat buildings - the center of Government activity, down the impressive Rajpath (the main avenue), to the World War I memorial arch, India Gate, the High Court Building and the Old Fort. Visit Qutub Minar, 72 meters high and the ruins of Quwat-ul-Eslam (Light of Islam) Mosque and Lotus Temple. After dinner transfer to International airport for onward destination.
