Overview

Langtang Gosaikunda Helambu Trek: The amazing adventurous Langang Gosaiknda Helembhu Trek combines of a unique and one of the best trekking trail in Langtang Himalayan ranges. This trekking combines three popular trekking trails; Langtang Valley, Gosaikunda Lake and Helambu valley lies in the north of Kathmandu valley offering numerous stunning views of mountains with rare veracities vegetation and glimpse sight of wild life. The main attracion are rhododendron and bamboo forests with an abundance of wildlife, majestic waterfalls flowing over mammoth boulders, a chance to bathe in soothing hot springs, magnificent views of the snow covered white giant Langtang Lirung, Visiting the holy lakes of Gosainkund. The Langtang Circuit Trekking route goes through traditional, ethnic Tamang heritage villages and untouched forests juniper, pine. This trek offers an opportunity to explore villages, to climb small peaks and to visit glaciers and scared lakes at a comfortably low elevation.

Itinerary

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Sea & Sky Tours & Travels Trekking & Expedition (P) Ltd. After completing your custom formalities (Visa, etc) transfer to hotel rest, and then meet your trekking guide as well as other participants. Evening will be a welcome dinner hosted by Sea & Sky Tours & Travels Trekking & Expedition where you will be served excellent authentic Nepalese cuisine which will introduce you to the country's food culture, and overnight stay at hotel.

Morning after breakfast we will drive out along the north-western hills of Kathmandu. Enjoy the Himlayan views and mountainous lifestyle through the terraced fields and rustic villages. Take Lunch at the Trishuli Bazar before continuing further to Dhunche. From Dhunche we descent down to Syabrubesi and overnight at hotel.

This is our first day of trekking today. Follow the Langtang Khola River. Pass through the dense forests. Cross several suspension bridges. We also pass by a tea houses. The trail goes up and down but it's not that challenging and overnight stay at tea house.

Today after breakfast, we start our trekking day towards the village of Mundu. Our trail continues along dense forests. After making a steady climb up through the valley, we leave the tree line behind us. Enjoy the marvelous views of Langtang Lirung. On the way to Mundu, you will also pass the Langtang Village, which was severely affected by earthquake in last year. Langtang Valley alone lost 400 lives, flooded away by an earthquake-triggered avalanche, destroying an entire village and infrastructures. We also see the ruins of Langtang Village, where life is slowing building back and a few tea-houses are reopened and overnight stay at tea house.

After breakfast, we will start our journey to Kyangjin Gompa, a principal monastery of the region. You will pass by water mills, prayer wheels, chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them. Also pass the largest mani wall in Nepal, made from stone with prayers written on them. The prayers written on the mani wall is supposed to be blown away by the wind. After the short trek, you will spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the Buddhist shrine and surrounding areas with the amazing views of the mountains and overnight at tea house.

Morning after tea and breakfast, we get out of the village and pass on through yak pastures and start for visiting to Tserko Ri (5000m/16,404ft) for mountain sunrise views. Since, we are really getting into the high altitudes you might start feeling the thin air. In the afternoon return to Kanjin Gompa- surrounded by the Himalayas all around. You can take a walk around Kanjin Gompa enjoying the views, glaciers, icefalls, birds and yaks and overnight stay at tea house.

Today you retract to Lama Hotel. All the way downhill but you will see fantastic views of towering mountain what you have missed on the way up. Take more time and suggested you to walk very slow. Overnight in Lama Hotel.

First trail decent to river, cross the river and ascend to Thulo Syabru. You will see the fascinating view of Langtang Himal and more. On the way of your trek you will pass through pine and Junieerps forests. Overnight in Thulo Syabru.

The trail ascends smoothly through rhododendron covered point to the top of the rim and through a forested area. The area in-between Shin gomba and Laurebina Yak is a sanctuary for the red panda, an endangered species that the Nepalese call cat bear. You return to the ridge path and climb a wider route through alpine country to arrive at a Gosainkunda. Explore around the Lakes and overnight in Gosainkund.

Today is a bit challenge day; the trail is climb, rough and crosses moraines. Passing three more small lakes, the trail ascend and cross Laurebina La (4,609m/15,121ft) after the pass, the path down to phedi and you continue walk up and down throughout crossing a rocky hill with pine, rhododendron trees. Overnight in Gopte.

You slide down through a forested area and climb through a dry river-bed to arrive at a Kharka that is surrounded by rhododendron forest. You climb through the forest to arrive at the village of Thare Pati. Climbing the ridge directly above the village gives you a marvelous view of the Jugal area. Cross the village and enter a forested area, again descending to Melamchi River followed by yet again climbing to the Malemchigaon for overnight.

The day you enter a cultural destination it call Helambu Region, walk up to Tarke Gyang where you can enjoy with Sherpa culture with traditional village and monasteries. The stone houses are close together with narrow alleyways separating them. Overnight in Tarke Gyang

You will cross small forest with the view of beautiful village of Helembu region. The trail makes a sweep around the wide valley end between Parachin and the pretty Sharpa village of Gangyul. The people of this village practice Drukpa Kagyu Buddhism, the same as the national religion of Bhutan. Then rich to Melamchi Bazaar, lunch then drive to Kathmandu about 3 hours, arrive check in hotel rest and evening will host a farewell dinner at Typical Nepali Restaurant with Live folk music and dance. And congratulations on the completion of your trek! Overnight in Kathmandu.

We are saying good bye to the mountains as journey in Nepal comes to an end today! There is nothing to do but trade emails with travel companions and organize the photos. If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight a representative from Sea & Sky Tours & Travels Trekking & Expedition will take you to the airport. On your way home you'll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
